TisF Goes Au Naturel...

TisF discovered the real meaning of naked. Naked means natural.  This is the definition given to us by the co-founders of Naked Pizza, Randy Crochet, Jeff Leach, Robbie Vitrano and Brock Filinger.  Their story began in April 2006 in New Orleans, soon after in March 2009 they launched their Twitter page.  One of the first bricks-and-mortar to erect a Twitter Billboard, this company uses the power of social media to get the (right) message out.

Naked Pizza is simply an honest diversity of all-natural, whole food ingredients that taste better and are better for you. The crust is made from an Ancestral Blend® of 10 grains plus prebiotic agave fiber and probiotics (healthful bacteria like the ones found in yogurt for balance and digestive health) bound by water and made by hand. The grains they use include oats, brown rice, buckwheat, quinoa, amaranth, teff, spelt, tapioca, and two kinds of wheat. This diversity of grains, fiber and probiotics are the main reason for that satisfying feeling after eating Naked Pizza, contributing a slow, sustained release of energy without the crash from eating other single grain, highly processed pizzas.

Brian Lucas aka BeLive was executive chef and co-owner of Organica: the Living Cuisine, which was located in San Francisco. Organica was unique in that it was one of the first gourmet raw living restaurants in the world and was 100% Raw, 100% Vegan and 100% Organic-Wild or Biodynamic. The restaurant was definitely ahead of it's time. Brian is one of the pioneers of the 90's gourmet raw living cuisine movement. He has also made food for celebrities, politicians and athletes.

Tawny Ong loves southern homemade comfort desserts. Though traditionally heavy and very sweet, Tawny has perfected and created her own versions of light, fluffy, moist and not-too-sweet but just right southern desserts using the best ingredients such as Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla, Valrhona Dutch Cocoa, Philadelphia Cream Cheese and lots of love while going organic wherever she can with eggs, butter, milk, cream, fruits, carrots...you get the picture.

Cupcakes tend to put smiles on people's faces. And that's what native New Yorker Tawny Ong loves about baking them. One small challenge...She didn't quite know how to bake!

Elizabeth Lessner is the CEO/President of Betty's Family of Restaurants including Betty's Fine Food and Spirits, The Surly Girl Saloon, Tip Top Kitchen & Cocktails, and Dirty Frank's Hot Dog Palace. Ms. Lessner is a social entrepreneur actively engaged in Green initiatives, downtown development and community affairs. Lessner is the Chairman of the Board of the Central Ohio Restaurant Association she is a co-chair on the Create Columbus Commission, Mayor Coleman's Young Professionals Commission and serves as an appointee by the Mayor to the Downtown Commission of Columbus, Ohio. Responsible small business, community building, mentoring and social entrepreneurship are all passions of Ms. Lessner.
