A cultural upbringing translates to fashion Bringing a world of culture and color without borders or boundaries, Bilingual combines the luxury of silk and dramatic, bold prints. Bilingual's signature prints and striking color combinations remind us of exotic, far off lands: A pink sunrise against the blue lagoon in Bali or the calming, green palm trees against the sapphire oceans in Baja. Bilingual is a celebration of designer Jacqueline Floro's diverse background, world travels, and her careers in New York City and Los Angeles. Growing up in the small town of Amherst, Ohio in the 80's, Floro's only exposure to the allure and mystery of international travel was the "European" make-up she bought at the local drug store. After spending her senior year of high school as a foreign exchange student in Madrid and studying in France during her college years, Floro was inspired to enter the fashion industry.  Upon graduating college, Floro sent her resume directly to lingerie designer, Josie Natori. Two weeks later she moved to New York City to start her career there. She continued to gain more experience at Polo Ralph Lauren and New York & Company in positions ranging from sales, merchandising, buying, PR and production.

In an effort to further develop her business, analytical and foreign language skills (she is trilingual in English, Spanish and French), she left the fashion industry for awhile to work in the Latin American division of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.Her desire to experience new cultures drove Floro to leave the corporate world, purchase a backpack, and set off to explore her Asian roots on a five month solo journey throughout South East Asia. After months of being alone in the rice fields of Indonesia, exploring the flea markets in Thailand, and getting lost in silk farms in Cambodia, the richness of color, elements of textile, and fascination of design, instantly inspired Floro. She knew she belonged back in the fashion industry where her career began. In time, Bilingual was born in 2006.  The line is now carried in over 100 boutiques and fine specialty stores across the country.  Bilingual has been worn by celebrities such as Halle Berry, Paris Hilton, and Jessica Biel.
