TisF spends Five Fabulous Minutes with Angeliki Garris, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of MODA FG.
MODA FG (Fashion Gazette) recently celebrated their one year anniversary, throwing the most Fabulous party of the year that included over 300 of Chicago’s fashion and creative industry elites. Hosted by Patricia Kara (www.patriciakara.com), guests enjoyed the sounds of musicians Bittersweet (www.bittersweetmusic.com) and Bright Like Japan (www.myspace.com/brightlikejapan) complete with a Fabulous fashion runway show. MODA FG is a 100+ page glossy publication filled with the works of top photographers, designers, artists, musicians, stylists and models. Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Angeliki Garris is the vision behind this Fabulous magazine. She has created a new outlet for the overall artistic-minded to discover fresh new talents, products and fashions. TisF caught up with Angeliki after the party…
What is your idea of Fabulous?
AG: Fabulous is something eye-catching. Everything from a person's warm gesture to a fabulous outfit. Fabulous is anything that makes a person feel good.
Who is the most Fabulous person you know?
AG: My mom. She is the best person you'll ever meet. She is funny, sweet, very smart, tough, stylish and my best friend!
Which Fabulous word do you use most?
AG: Amazing... I always say... That's Amazing!
What is your greatest (most Fabulous) extravagance?
AG: Shoes, I love weird shoes.... recently it's my new silver Chanel extra tall platforms. I also love to travel.
Where would you like or prefer to live your Fabulous life?
AG: Right now, I'm Loving Chicago.... but I'm also in Love with New York.... I would be happy in both.
What do you consider your greatest (most Fabulous) achievement?
AG: Launching my magazine, MODA FG, last year and continuing the growth of it with my 3 passions of Fashion, Music and Art.
What is your (Fabulous) motto?
AG: Don't be afraid to live your life the way you want to live it. Take chances and take risks, you only have 1 life to live, and life is too damn short to hold back. If you never try, you'll never know. The worst that could happen is that you'll fall down, but guess what? Since babies we have fallen down and picked ourselves up, so why stop now? I'd also say a motto of mine is speak up, don't be afraid to talk to anyone, we are all equal. Also, treat everyone with respect.
Angeliki and MODA FG are truly Fabulous!
