TisF is All About The Abaya!

Amal Murad, is an abaya fashion designer who comes from an artistic family in Dubai.  From a young age she was a talented stylist advising her family and friends on fashion and style.  Her early beginnings as a designer began before the age of 15, when she created her first garments.

Fashion magazines and fashion shows were embedded within the character of this young designer, and the passion to learn and create was her given talent. Being led and inspired by the fashion designers such as Channel and Christian Dior, her greatest muse comes from the fashion mogul - Yves Saint Laurent.  She graduated from University in Dubai, but far before that she was already attending 'class premiere', a high-end fashion seminar held in Paris.

In December 2005, Amal created her first abaya collection, called REDAA. From January 2006 to February 2007, this collection was exhibited at the "Bride show" in Abu Dhabi. Her first independent fashion show took place during March 2007, followed by a fashion show, showcasing her fall/winter collection during Dubai Fashion Week in 2008. In 2009, REDAA became the official abaya wear for the Middle East Film Festival and the preferred abaya for famous "catwalk" models and the most sophisticated Arab clientele.  REDAA is the world's leading brand of abaya's and has become a symbol of fashion with traditional elements embedded in each garment.

What is your idea of Fabulous?
AM: Fabulous in my perception is a very intriguing magazine that has high status reputation among fashion publications. The magazine is appealing to a massive number of audiences due to the fact that it covers various aspects. Hence it does keep the reader allured and well informed about the newest trends, beauty, health and entertainment in addition to other editorial features. This results in making it a magazine that is a one-stop visit to a diverse collection that only the most fabulous offers its readers in every issue released.

Who is the most Fabulous person you know?
AM: My eye-opener to the world of fashion since my youth is Yves Saint Laurent he has always been my ticket to know more about the world of fashion, with time and in different phases I also gained a lot of insight through the eyes of other designers. At this current phase I feel marc Jacobs has caught my attention, for he is well known for his sartorial fashion interpretations of trends that stuns the fashion world, and the cant miss-catwalk with his collections twice a year. Marc Jacobs does not set a trend only he adds way more mystique to it; as well he quotes, "I love to take things that are everyday and comforting and make them into the most luxurious things in the world." and I do believe in it personally very much.

Which Fabulous word do you use most?
AM: I use many but I always express it with the word "Stunning".

What is your greatest (most Fabulous) extravagance?
AM: Art especially painting, reading, and Styling are my passions in life. They are my sanctuary where I think I express myself the most without any limitations.

Where would you like or prefer to live your fabulous life?
AM: I would like to have the chance to visit other countries and be exposed to other cultures; nonetheless Dubai is my country and I would not prefer to reside anywhere but here. My hometown Dubai, and my Country the UAE.

What do you consider your greatest (most Fabulous) achievement?
AM: Initiating my own brand name is what I consider my achievement and it was a long lived talent that had resided in me and it came out naturally by time and was unplanned for by then. Creativity and talent always come along hand in hand; you cannot really force them out of a person. In my best opinion, there is always this moment where you feel all your ideas are just getting unleashed creating this notion of thoughts that I can put into purpose.

What is your (Fabulous) motto?
AM: I always say Trend is not what it's publicized to be, yet the key to a good sense of style is being Simple yet decently fashionable.
