TisF is Playing in Palm Springs!

The Colony Palms Hotel is situated in the heart of Palm Springs, California, on the western edge of the Coachella Valley, only a short two-hour drive from Los Angeles and five minutes from the Palm Springs International Airport.  Located next to the town's infamous movie colony, the hotel is within walking distance from the city's historic shopping strip.

Originally built in 1936, the Spanish-style Colony Palms completed a $17 million dollar renovation in the spring of 2007 to all guestrooms and public spaces. The newly refurbished hotel includes a new poolside restaurant, The Purple Palm, and will feature an intimate spa facility, speakeasy and fitness center.

One of Palm Springs' most historic properties, the hotel was constructed in 1936 by Purple Gang mobster Al Wertheimer. Operating as The Colonial House, the hotel quickly became the town's most popular locale, known primarily as a speakeasy, brothel and gambling house. In 1951, the property was sold to Robert Howard, grandson of the owner of champion thoroughbred Sea Biscuit, and renamed the Howard Manor. Over the next 25 years, the hotel was a haven for young Hollywood, with guests including Frank Sinatra and boxing great Jack Dempsey.

The Spanish-style hotel features interiors by renowned Los Angeles-based designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard.  The décor harkens back to 1940's glamour with an exotic slant, incorporating worldwide influences such as Uzbekistani suzanis with rich woods, French tiling and vintage Hollywood black and white photography. Each of the 57 rooms offers breathtaking views of the desert mountains.
